FIREWIND: 'Forged By Fire' To Receive U.S. Release Next Week

FIREWIND's third album, "Forged by Fire", will receive a long-overdue U.S. release on July 12 via Magick Records (a division of Cleopatra Records).

In other news, FIREWIND have been forced to cancel their July 23 appearance at the Fabric Festival in Trier, Germany — presumably as a resut of the recent departure of singer Chity Somapala (ex-AVALON, FARO) due to "personal reasons."

Somapala originally joined FIREWIND in early 2004 as the replacement for Stephen Fredrick. Chity appeared on "Forged by Fire", which was produced by band leader/guitarist Gus G. and mixed by Fredrik Nordström at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden. Guest musicians on the album included former MEGADETH guitarist Marty Friedman and ex-TESTAMENT/DEATH axeman James Murphy.

Gus G. recently joined ARCH ENEMY as the group's touring guitarist after Christoper Amott bowed out of that band in order to "fully concentrate on his studies at home in Sweden," according to ARCH ENEMY axeman Michael Amott.
